NVIDIA GPU Video Issues

Note: NVIDIA actively fixes issues and updates their drivers. Please follow the instructions below to get the latest update. This can have a significant impact on Rhino's stability.

These instructions are for computers that have NVIDIA GPU graphics hardware.

To complete these instructions you must know:

  1. The card manufacturer
  2. The video card model
  3. The operating system of the computer
Before updating your video drivers we recommend creating a Windows System Restore point on your computer in case the changes need to be rolled back.

Determine NVIDIA driver version

  1. Start Rhino
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options
  3. Expand the View tab (located near the bottom of the list on the left), and then click OpenGL.
  4. Look for the Driver date: line. If you are having display driver problems, and your drivers are several months old, an update might help

Instructions to update the NVIDIA driver

  1. Choose the options to find you specific model card and details
  2. Start the driver installer
  3. At the point where you can choose installation type, select Custom (Advanced)
  4. On the next install screen check the option that says Perform a clean install
